Robat Karim Manganese Mine,Tehran
Located just 50 kilometers south of Tehran, this mine is the only known hydrothermal deposit of its kind in Iran. Discovered in 1928 and in operation since 1938, it produces manganese, a critical mineral for industries such as steel, cement, batteries, and animal feed. Due to Iran's limited manganese reserves, the company has prioritized ore beneficiation to increase its grade. This, coupled with its proximity to the capital, underscores the strategic importance of the Robat Karim mine
